“The house did not shelter. It devoured.”
- Malachai Blackthorn, The Gluttonous House

“Within, walls continued upright, bricks met neatly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone.”
- Shirley Jackson, The Haunting of Hill House
There is a house on a hill.
Now, it is Number 17 Rosewood Court.
Before, it was Mrs. C. Compressa's Residence
And before that, the House on the Iron Road.
And before that, the Estate of Mr. Wilfred Brooks. And when it all began, the house had no name at all. It simply stood. Perched and perilously alone on a bit of land upraised like a clenched fist. Echoingly empty, vacant windows lidless eyes impassively observing the untilled fields over which it had dominion.Things change-- its address, its paint, the number of its rooms inside it and the slant of its roof. The people who come to it with their bright dreams. The ones who leave again gone gray with age and atrophied ambition. So many things change.
But in the end, this remains. It remains. There is a house. There has always been a house.
This Address Does Not Exist is an audio anthology of epistolary haunted house stories, recounting the history of the house on the hill through the correspondence of its inhabitants. It is produced by Law of Names Media, and written by a collection of writers. It is created/managed/organize by Ash Seguinte.
“Nothing ever likes to die--not even a room."

Kira is a writer, video editor, and media enthusiast, a longwinded way of saying she is a giant and unrepentant nerd. She loves telling stories in any and all mediums and genres, but has a soft spot for the strange and tragic. (She blames that on reading far too many adaptations of Frankenstein.)You can find more of her work on her Portfolio here, as well as her most recent--and very on-brand--short story here.
